The action-packed FNB Wines2Whales (W2W) Mountain Bike events is heading to Hermanus in November.
This three-day stage race will take place between 31 October until 9 November, with each of the three events, the Adventure, the Ride or the Race, ending at Onrus Caravan Park on day three (2, 5 and 9 November).
The race starts at Lourensford in Somerset West, after which riders will cross through and over 13 wineries, 26 private farms, six mountains, historic roads and mountain passes, nature conservation areas (including the Kogelberg Biosphere) before finishing at Onrus Caravan Park.
Hermanus residents wishing to witness the action firsthand can visit the following spectator points on the third day of each event: from 10:00 at Hamilton Russel Wine Estate and from 10:30 at Onrus Beach and Onrus Caravan Park.
To keep all road users safe, traffic control will take place on 2, 5 and 9 November between 09:00 and 15:00 on the Karwyderskraal and R320 / Hemel en Aarde Road and on the R320 between Hamilton Russel and Bouchard Finlayson, where cyclists will be crossing the main roads.
Traffic control will also take place on Atlantic Drive in Onrus between Onrus Beach and Onrus Caravan Park between 09:30 and 15:30, with the bulk of cyclists expected between 11:00 and 14:00.
