  • Have a photo taken with the Whale Crier (tip) – The tradition of the Whale Crier started in 1991 when a visitor came into the Publicity offices of Hermanus and told everyone that the whales he had just spotted “must be the best kept secret in the Cape”. • Take your kids to the park (free) – Hermanus is home to various parks that are equipped with jungle gyms, slides, swings and so much more. There is even a park on the waterfront in full view of the seafront restaurants where mom can enjoy a relaxing of cup tea while the kids play.

  • Visit the morning market for tea and cake (R20) – A unique outdoor deli experience. Here you can buy local fresh produce, direct from the source from over 30 traders who offer the best produce from the Cape Overberg region.
